Upon buying the house, our client wanted an outdoor space that could be used 3 seasons out of the year. The scope of this project included construction of a new front covered deck with embedded radiant heated flooring, the expansion and renovation of an existing garage, and front yard site improvements including a new expanded driveway, a new front walkway, and various drainage upgrades.
The new porch blends in with the existing construction, where a pitched front entry mimics the 2nd story windows above and on either side. The porch’s three-season use was paramount in the design, with features such as a X foot width for casual furniture, a radiant heating system in the flooring, and integrated lighting and speakers in the arts-and-crafts-style tapered columns.
